I have a 704 greenie and the spool and rotor cup will pop up when reeling. and the anti reverse wont work unless you pull the rotor cup up. if anyone can explain what i need to do or what needs to be replaced would be greatly appreciated.

i saw this reel today and reeled it and it is really wobbly it has a manual on it but normally it doesent wobble like this because it has a bigger counter weight than most reels just adding that in there for you ben

10-4 thanks bud. i dont know who to talk to to get some info on what it needs. i may email kathy... but i took the side plate off just now and its greased up just fine and i cant really tell whats wrong with it and i dont wanna mess with it.
i can take it to charlie friday and bring it to you on saturday at the pier
your rotor nut is loose. take the spool off and tighten the silver nut back up.

i tried that but it is tight as can be
yes sir ill try with a ratchet...
yea i only tried with my fingers a ratchet might work but dont strip it out

what about the anitreverse?
Take the side plate off and make sure the spring isnt broke on the dog. Its a little boomerang shaped piece towards the back. If u flip the lever back and forth you should see it move
Ben, you do know how to dissect a 700 serice penn don't you, if not, i'd really hate to see your 704 get messed up, it's super easy, just say so iff you don't, personally, I'm saving up for all my old penn spinners to get instant anti-reverse, I'm thinking it'll be totaly worth it. If I do then it'll be Mike Ross who does it. Also, on your 704, check the plate under the rotor cup nut, they will slip if it's not on there rite (you could also bend it if you lock down that nut without it being in there right, you really don't want that :run)
i tightened the bolt. its helped a lot and the anti reverse is missing the rubber washer on the actual switch its a cheap part so im not worried about it im fishing it this weekend thanks though emerson!
