Red hooks
I am planning on making some drop rigs for pompano. All I can find is red hooks. Are they going to be too flashy or should I look for black ones. Also what size do you guys prefer?
Thanks!!!

You should be able to find #2 khale hooks in nickel or bronze at the bait shops down here or online.

Red hooks should be just fine. Lots of folks put bright orange and/or chartreuse attractors on the drop lines. I'm kind of fond of red hooks, myself, really like them on bubble rigs. You can always claim them as your secret weapon when you're catching fish, and blame them when you don't.

I use red hooks a lot . I like them for Spanish on occasion. Do not think you will have problem with them .

I'm going to tie up some jigs with red hooks as I don't think it will make much difference to the fish. I read someplace that red yellow and green are not seen very well by fish at a depth of 30' or more. Has something to do with a fishes eyes and what things look like to them in the water colum.
Dance naked my friends, life is short.
No, I mean a heavy sinker.
