Don't use super glue Justin. You'll have to cut the rod if the tip needs replacing again.I may be just a store clerk but I know the correct way to put on a rod tip.

k, just flexcoat then? only been building rods for a couple years so, i havent really tryed to remove a whole lot of rod tips, but the 3 that i have with super glued (i burn them off) have fryed the rod tip, and i might have to take OPP up on his offer, i love all the good advice i can get, especially from the guys that have been doing it a while, might ask you to John some questions, i only know a few GOOD rodbuilders, John G, Cathy, Mike Ross, dont think i've met OPP, probably will this summer though, and a couple others that i don't know their names.
Re: Repairing rod tip help
No man,not the wrapping finish but the hard amber stuff that comes in a four inch stick and you have to heat it with a propane torch. It's the same stuff I used 23 years when I taught Kathy to build rods, then Mike Ross and so on.But I will say this, the purple Webber stuff that Ross Hutchinson got me started on when I was a 14 year old know it all was the best glue.
Re: Repairing rod tip help
Thanks again John.
He fixed my tip personally Thursday morning for me and gave me a quick lesson on it after he did it as well. That is the reason I still go out of my way to go to J&M. John truely cares about his trade and business. Even though I live in Pensacola now, I will still go to J&M for supplies and help. I know I can always rely on John and his staff.
