Rod painting
I have a wright mcgill rod that is still in use but I'm wanting to change the color can I paint the rod myself (If so what would be the best way) , or would it be best to have a rod builder do it?

I've painted rods followed by a coat of Flex coat (entire rod) and they turned out fine. Just don't paint blank white, because Flex coat turns yellow with age.

Strip guides, use razor blade to chip away old finish, sand with 220 grit till smooth, whip several times with acetone, scuff with maroon scotch bright pad to remove small burs, wipe with acetone several times, outside on a calm day, put rod in drying motor, start rotating, use a tack cloth to remove dust, spray with several light coats of Krylon spray paint, let sit for a day, lightly scuff with scotch bright to give the finish a tooth, wipe with tack rag, apply coat of rod finish, let sit for a few days before wrapping.

This Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for an abundant fishery and a magnificent pier, from which to access that fishery. I'm thankful for the morning view of the sunrise and what a spectacular view it is...
Happy Thanksgiving!
