Sabiki rig
What size reel would you use fishing the sabiki rod?

If the rod has a guide between the reel seat and the hole,you can use a spinning reel in the 4000 size. If it does not have a guide,a large bait casting reel is what you need. If the tip of the rod has a metal collar,30lb braid works best on spinning because there is no memory to choke the line being the guide is only a foot from the reel. If the collar is all plastic,heavy mono around 20lb is best because lighter line will grove the tip faster.

For a sabiki rig you only need to add 25 yards to the end. You won't usually have but half of that out at a time if you are bait-fishing, so you can lose a bit to attrition.
