Don't ever count out a live Pinfish--especially small ones.
Didn't keep count, but bait for bait, I've had great success with Pinfish in the past--especially factoring in successful hookups where the bait wasn't stolen.

Do yall prefer the mono bait nest with the red ribbon or sabiki rigs? Im new to this and the sabiki caught bait but it was harder than I expected given the huge schools. Is there a special technique? It caught ok Sat morning but sort of shut down on me around 9 for bait despite schools still being around. Thanks
sabiki rigs can be a pain, but seem to be more consistant. Try throwing under the peir, or down by the cleaning stations, and get you a bait holding bucket and catch them early. edave on the forum sells the best ribbons for 8 dollars.
I swear by just gold hooks....
they catch different baits more commonly

There are days when sabikis seem to be the only game in town, other days when its ribbon rigs. Then there are days when either work great. I keep both in the tackle bag and adapt to whatever seems to be working best.

I always keep a sabiki and ribbon rig on my cart cuz the LY’s are fickle. After I take a sabiki out of the package, I hook the swivel to a shower curtain ring and drop the weight end down inside of a 5’ piece of pvc pipe inserted in a rod holder.
Preserves the sabiki and your clothing.
