Sabiki Rod
I was looking around on ebay and ran across a Sabiki Rod . Looked pretty cool and would seem to take care of a lot of foul hooks in the car seats and get my lovely wife off my case . Actually Bill (Ironman ) had something similar . Any experience or info about a sibiki rod ???????? Seemed rather pricey ,but can you pay to much for peace of mind ????

Re: Sabiki Rod
I personally own one I love it. Seems like everytime I walked by those Sabikis they would jump out and hook me

Re: Sabiki Rod
I know Walmart carries Ugly Stick sabiki rods(or they used) for about $60. I will buy me one, one of these days.

Re: Sabiki Rod
Its much cheaper to get a pcv pipe and drill a hole at an angle for the line to pass. Then just clamp a reel on it.

Re: Sabiki Rod
I usually just put and snap swivel on my light rod and put the sabiki on when I get to the pier and take it off after I'm done fishing. Never like how stiffness of the sabiki rod.

Re: Sabiki Rod
The small ones we use on the pier, I throw em away after fishing them. Larger more expensive ones I try to salvage them for use on another day.

Re: Sabiki Rod
Someone suggested a while back that a piece of the cheap PVC that would fit over your rod would save a sibiki for another day. Haven't tried it myself. I did use a shoebox lid to fold one up once. The length matched the hooks really well.

Re: Sabiki Rod
this is the one I got....at least from the same place and won the auction for 27.50....cheap enough for me....but I still like my telescopic spinning rod and reel for the action ....and when certain pier's only allow X amount of rods....then you pay more per rod....it can fit in the cooler....out of sight ....yes I am cheap

Re: Sabiki Rod
I love my sabiki rod. Though it is stiff but still does the job just fine. Be care to get one that fits the reel you want to use. Some are made for bait casters and some are made for spinning. I made a mistake but j and m helped me out.
