Powder painting some jigs and I'm trying to mix some colors to come up with something that represents the color of a Sand Flea. Pictures online show a grayish/pinkish lavender color that fades to a whitish color on the underside. Below is a picture of what I have come up with to date. I think I'm close on the main shell color, but would like to hear what you folks think. I'm thinking that maybe a splash of a dark copper would help. What say you folks?
The females have an orange egg sack under their belly. As jigs go I have only caught a few pompano on them but my best luck has been on pink, orange, and pink jighead with orange and pink nylon hair.
Dawg, I'd say you just about nailed it.
Here's your jig along side a real sandflea!
As you suggested a splash of dark copper will make it perfect.

I can add the dark copper, but the mustache it going to be tough to duplicate. :congratulatory:
Looks more like a 'sprinkling of grey' ;-) lol
Orange is good on a jig though!
I never knew sandfleas came with a shirt pocket.
When I saw the post my first thought was if you could get a collar on one you would have to use like 2lb test for a leash.
