If you are using A thread you need to make two passes with it over the guide. Do your first pass, then a coat of finish, and then your second pass and another coat of finish.
Thanks pier pest.
If I were using size D would the double wrap need to be done OPP? This freaking rod building is allot more complicated than I thought, but I'm about to be down and out from work for about a month b/c of some surgery, so maybe I can get the hang of it by the time I go back to work. it drives me nuts knowing I can do this but do not have the knowledge. :wall:
With size D thread you only make one pass with the thread. Just be sure the guide foot is ground well to create a smooth ramp for the thread to go up.
We used to make underwraps with A thread and then use D for the overwrap.
I would only use A as the overwrap on an ultralite rod or some other small guide wrap.
Bit then again things may have changed... :-\
