Thread: Crow hunting in Baldwin county

Looking for information on crow hunting in Baldwin county, I found a few on Perdido and Lillian WMA and wonder if pecan growers have problems with them and allow hunting them?

It's closed here til June 1 ,the federal government only allow so many days per yer,fri sat-sun from last sat in September til February 28 whats the season there

Yep, most people don't realize that crows are covered under the Migratory Bird Treaty and have set seasons. Where I grew up in PA, other than predators, it was the only thing you could hunt on Sunday.

CarlF, I did a little research. Crows are not covered by the MBTA. Individual states may have regs concerning crow hunting, but I can't recall ever seeing a restriction on crow hunting in Alabama in the 40+ years I've lived here. WMA's may have additional restrictions, but privately held/leased lands have no such restrictions.

No closed season on crows in Alabama. Daylight hours only. Excerpt from the regs book:

I stand corrected. I was looking at the original doc and not the amended ones. Not sure why they are listed/protected. One of the smartest birds out there and no shortage of them anywhere I've been!

Mexico is the reason,it's the national bird ,we got a agreement with them,only so many days to shoot them and maybe illegals the other few days ? hell cant tell nothing these days due to the politicians we have,
