I was fortunate enough to be drawn for an alligator tag this year, been applying for 10 years. Can anyone tell me where to find a nice 10' +. Anyone interested in offering affordable guide service, will be a father and grown sons.

I've seen A few in that size range earlier this summer along both side of the causeway. Gator in the 9-10' range are not rare But one little bit of advice:
the guys who don't fill their tags are the guys who "hold out" for a biggun, pass up "smaller" gators and end up with nothing. If I had a tag I'd snatch the first 8' gator I saw and be done with it.
sorta off subject but not completely, is there a minimum size?
It used to be 6' min. but I think they might have lifted that. But not sure.
6-8 footers are a dime a Dzn.
I spent 2 weeks at Mahera State Park near Spanish Fort. There is a 10-11 footer that stays about 10 foot off the weeds on the bank every morning and evening.
Thanks for all help offered. Definitely do not want to size myself out of hunt. Looking for 10+ first 2 nights, then quickly will drop to 8'. Still looking for places where a good one is hanging out. Still looking for potential guide. Thanks again!
