I have to vent sorry. Im not happy with the repair department at Costa Del Mar. I sent a pair of glasses back with 3 defects (2 factory and 1 my fault) and they wanted over half the retail price of the glasses to fix them. Im not telling you not to buy them just watch out if you need to send them in for repair. :moon: :moon:
??? What were the defects? Have sent both pairs of mine back numerous times and it only cost me shipping?
That sucks. Sorry you had bad luck. Sent mine back to get the rubber part of one ear piece rrplaced and they replaced my lenses for free. WTF? Maybe talk to a supervisor
The rubber on the arms came off and the rubber nose peice started coming apart the one that was my fault was a broke lens, a friend of mine sent the same kind back last year for a broke lens and they repaired it for 30.00 and they want 79.95 plus 11.95 processing fee from me :wall:
I have been sending emails to them and now they even stopped returning them so the next best thing is to let people know through social media, like I said not saying don't buy the product just watch yourself.
We're your glasses 400s or 580s? That could be the difference in cost right there.

They don't replace just one. They replace both lenses.
They are the glass lens i think that is the 580 my friend and I had the same pair.
Call customer service and ask to speak to a supervisor. That doesn't work, ask for his supervisor and so on. I never deal with the person who answers the phone. They seldom have any authority
Mine just broke(my fault) after 3 yrs. of owning them so I'm pretty sure it doesn't fall under the warranty but I'm sending them in anyway just to see. Sorry to hear about your ordeal with Costa :(
They make awesome sunglasses, if they can't repair mine. I'll def buy another pair.
I found a pair of Costa’s in the street a couple years that had a cracked lens, but looked good other than that. I sent them in to Costa and got a new pair with a case included for just a shipping charge of about $12 or so. Crazy!

A less than year old pair of 580's = 109.00 payment and shipping from me. It sucked.
Scary stuff. I just ordered a pair of man o wars with prescription 580g lenses. I hope these things last a while.

put them in a safe at home and they should last. the big problem with man-o-war is the rubber on the arms and the nose peice come off, which they will repair that for the processing fee keep a spare pair because you will probably send them back a.little more than you want .
The ones I referenced earlier are man-o-war and as Duck said, the rubber strip on the ear piece has come off once in 4 years. Hassle free repair and for whatever reason, they replaced the lenses at no charge.
Well I made a comment on a Facebook post of Costa and they replied and gave me another person to contact so I sent her an email. I'll post the outcome good or bad.
^^^ I switched my frames from the Man O Wars to the Jose's since you guys had problems with them. Since mine are RX, they are more than twice as much, so I dont want any problems or waits for future repairs. Plus, the Jose's fit better anyway.
I ordered 580g Copper with Green Mirror. Cant wait to get them in.

If your getting new 580 mirror lenses and the rest fixed,sounds like a dang good deal to me for under a $100 because more than likely they will send you a new pair of glasses.
Pleased I am again. Costa ask me to send the glasses back again(which they paid the shipping) for a supervisor to look them over again. I got the call today that they will repair my glasses for the $11.95 processing fee. I wasn't trying to get something for nothing however I am a happy Costa customer again.
I am a Costa fanboy myself, now. MY RX Costas are the single best investment into fishing I have ever made.
hey Bubba, were your Costas byfocals for just rx's?
Not bifocal! I get really bad sea sick. I couldnt imagine what those would be like on the water.
I wanted green Mirror, but I was told I could not get it with byfocal copper lenses
