Monday the 9th... questions.. havent been down in a while.
I got a little vacation time monday so we're thinking about suprising my step-son with a trip down. He has never been and always hears my daughter talking about 'the pier'. The wifey and caboose will be present and one or two other kids of ours may come too..
My son wants to see sharks, he is fascinated, so what better shark infested waters could I take him to lol. I'm hoping to let him catch a spanish or 2 and perhaps a pompano if we're lucky.
It's been a year or so since I've been down to fish, is the pier bait shop selling live shrimp or bull minnows?
And how dag blamed crowded are Monday mornings and evenings?
Also is the parking lot a pay to park now? If so do I have to pay every time or is it per 24h.Nurse -- Father -- Falconer

The pier should offer shark seeing discounts ;-) lol
No live bait available at the pier, just stop by Hooked Up on the way.
The lot is pay to park. $10 all day and they will let you on the pier for no additional charge. Other adults have to pay though...

Some nice Spanish being caught but the sharks want them pretty bad. Lost 2 of my styrofoam chuggers yesterday and 2 small jerk baits with bubbles today.

Hope it goes well for ya!
The water looks 'nice' with just a slight bump from the east with an increasing breeze.
Incoming tide that won't start falling until mid afternoon.
Looks good to me...

There has been a pretty good afternoon bite too, so after the tide turns might be good, too.
People are shocked to see sharks in the water around here.
If you see natural water taste it. If it's salty it has sharks in it. If it's fresh it has alligators in it. If it's brackish it has both.

For those that were on the Nub last week and saw the fish I was catching on Bubble with the 2 dollar jerk bait from Walmart I hit all the stores in South Alabama and they were out of them. I ordered 10 of them Friday and they were delivered that night to our house in Gardendale. May need to change out the split rings and hooks but the Spanish sure seemed to like them.
