i see where alabama recognizes a tennessee permit. i see that guns are not allowed on the pier but is there anything else i should be aware of? am i required to inform the LEO i have a weapon if pulled over?

Rules are pretty basic(common sense). Don't take your weapon in anywhere you aren't supposed to. You only have to tell the LEO if he/she asks.
You dont have to tell them, but if you think there may be a chance that it will be seen, I would keep your hands on the steering wheel and go ahead and tell them.
LEOs dont like surprises, if you have to get out of the car and you weapon somehow becomes unconcealed, the LEO wont be very happy that you didnt let him know up front...

i always hand the officer my permit and dl at the same time. i know in some states, you must immediately inform the officer that you have a weapon. i will study up on the law before our trip. thanks guys.
