[size=12pt]I suggest you call your rental agent with that question,
Hopefully it will be a non-issue.

    Right on!
The 4pm NHC forecast has the storm track a little slowwer and closer to the FL penninsula.
That should fare well for us.
Just a mostly dry E-NE-N breeze middle of nest week.

They keep moving the projected track further west and they'r making me nervous. As long as it makes landfall to the east, or doesn't get above a Cat One, you can probably ride it out fine, but otherwise, get the h#ll out of town. Even if it doesn't do lots of damage, you don't want to be stuck in the condo with no power and no water for several days. The traffic from a mandatory evacuation is pure hell, too. I stuck around too close when Fredrick came through in '79, and since then, I'm leading the pack getting out of town if it looks line it even MIGHT be a close hit. Don't tempt Mother Nature, she can be a real bitch.

At what point would they issue the evac order, I'll have a sticker so if there is power can I come back the next day and enjoy the rest of the week, just asking just in case. Our thinking is we will drive up the road 100 miles or whatever is necessary stay the night and come back if possible. Thanks

Monitor closely. I think they usually close the bridges off the island when the wind gets above 45mph. Getting back on will be a problem if there is any damage to speak of. I rode out Ike a couple of years ago because shortly before coming in it was downgraded to a tropical storm and yet it still closed the State Pier for almost a month. The last time I actually evacuated from Gulf Shores was about 15 years ago( might have been hurricane Opal) and I could not even find a cup of coffee until Evergreen, Alabama and the first motel rooms open were near Birmingham that time. Your auto would probably not enjoy a salt water bath and that is something else to think about.

I'm hoping the storm system moving across the country right now picks Isaac up and moves it way east, no way a hurricane can over power a big front it just has to get there in time, screw the saltwater, i'm gonna make this vacation work I haven't had one in 10 years, lol I'm a certified storm spotter for the NWS maybe they will lwt me stay and chase, lol
