We Could Use Some Help

We could use some help, I find myself in a tight spot making ends meet for my family.
Life has thrown us a some nasty curve balls and I struck out.
Can you help us out?


We're not looking for handouts or charity, we're asking you to buy your wife, girlfriend, teen daughter or whomever some great reading material.
My wife is an author and has several works available and they're good stuff.

This comes as I lose my medical insurance and can not afford COBRA.

I sure hate to hear that John, and can identify with your delima.
When my job 'dried up' 10 years ago, I found myself in similar circumstance and quickly found out how difficult it is even for a willing, able, trained 55 year old white guy to find gainful employment.
Prayerfully, God put many good, caring people in my path who encouraged me to persevere and gave me ideas to try.
One friend, John Phillips (a writer from Birmingham) offered a LOT of good advice and even suggested I start my 'pier & shore' guide business, and write more.
"Don't be dependant on one income source." he told me. "Diversify your income base so when things turn down for one, they may pick up in another."
So, I did just that. Met hundreds of fine folks in a variety of work lines (I joined 'Linked -In' and still get job offer suggestions from that).

Also, through a local fishing friend, Robert Dobson (BT 66), I got a job at Bass Pro.
It wasn't the best pay, but it got me off 'unemployment', and I loved the atmosphere and people.
Plus it helped diversify my skill set because I had NEVER worked retail before!
After a few years, things really improved for me with new opportunities that God placed in my path.
My prayers were for HIS WILL to guide my life, just as He had given me that life in the first place.

Anyway, what I'm saying is keep your chin up, even when life kicks you in the gut!
Remember you are not alone. You and your wonderful family are not alone...
And keep praying for God to guide you, as He always protects His People!

We'll get through it, but until then I'm scrambling to make it.
Already made contact with a couple of recruiters, but until I get this dagblasted biopsy and results out of the way I can't really commit to another employer.
