Last September I hurt my shoulder at work, had surgery mid February and in mid Aug the orthopedist said he done everything he could and I'd healed/recovered as much as possible. Attained MMI as they call it, and workers comp benefits ends just like that.
I have medical physical restrictions which preclude me going back to my original job, and they can't/won't accommodate me for continued employment.
But the doc says I'm Full Duty, but I've permanent work restrictions and somehow no permanent disability... How does that work?
So after 14 years of Very Good/Excellent performance reviews and working my ass of for this company I'm getting dumped..
"BYE!" and "Sayanara Sucker!"
Consulted a lawyer and am gonna sue them for a settlement on the workers comp claim, which I wasn't going to do before they screwed me.
Time to look at unemployment and go job hunting at 54 years old.
And now my health may be dumping me too.
Had some tests ran and now have to have a biopsy to see if I have cancer.
This comes as I lose my medical insurance and can not afford COBRA.
Unemployed, no medical insurance and may have cancer.
