I agree, mornings are good: the sounds of life waking up to begin the new day that we have been given and the beauty of the sunrise at the Pier. I think that Mr. #'er says it best with "Thank you Lord for putting it all there". (please excuse any inaccuracies in the quote)
True dat!
My 'favorite time of day' is ANY time I have a fish hooked up ;-)
I love fishing, but listening to the morning bird chorus while on the deer stand on a clear cold January morning is something to hear.
I also like the pre-dawn light over the decoys on the open bay. Very peaceful.
Carl, I'm with you on the bird chorus, but I think it is much more melodious in the spring while I'm waiting for that old gobbler to sound off. A couple of years ago, I was in the mountains of W. VA at dawn in the spring and I've never heard so many wood thrushes.
On the other side of the coin, I wish they'd turn off what they consider music at the pier office. Not that their choice of music is so terrible, but the sound system is awful and turns even songs I like into loud noise. I see no reason for it to be on. There is nothing wrong with the sound of the surf and the birds. You can listen to your radio any time, but the real sound of the sea and shore is a treasure that shouldn't be messed with.
Long time ago, when I gun hunted, it was more about being there as the world woke up around me. I am sure it is not just me feels that. What if I didn't make a harvest? Fur, feather, fin, just having that time to be there is all I really need.
RIGHT ON!

When I wake up and realize I am still alive and kickin' in Gulf Shores!
To me anytime I,m still above ground is great. With that said there is no better place to be than the Tennessee mountains hunting turkey and watching and listening to the world come alive in the spring. I once read an article about being in the woods when the sun comes up with the rays of light shining thru the trees and birds and animals making their various sounds as compared with the most beautiful churches in the world. The writer concluded that it was no contest and those things made with human hands could never be as wonderful as what God has given us to enjoy in nature. I agree!
Big Dawg, I've been fortunate enough to experience spring turkey season SE of Nashville, and I don't think I've ever seen prettier country. Can't figure why Davey Crockett ever left unless he was being chased. There is a ton of history in that area too.
