Working dogs
I have a lovely black roan English Springer that is about 14 months old...
She is a wonderful flushing dog. She works or runs an average of 3 hours a day, sometimes more. She has decent manners and listens great when not at home with the kids.
Has anyone ever worked a flushing dog and trained them to point? I know hundreds of years of breeding etc has alot to do with it, but... I am just curious...
My WMA has alot of quail... and I would like to see if she is capable of learning to point on them...Nurse -- Father -- Falconer

Use a live pigeon on a string. Its the only method i know of for training a pointing dog- not that ive ever trained a pointing dog. My dogs ran rabbits, and only occasionally flushed a pheasant or woodcock.
That is interesting, but surely an oversight? The ByWater-Beachside has a Facebook page @ https://www.facebook.com/ByWaterBeachside I asked them what the hours will be after Labor Day...
