Miso Marinate Spanish Macs
Dont think I have posted this one before:
Miso Marinated Spanish Mackerel
1/4 cup white or yellow miso
1/4 cup honey
1 Tbs. toasted Asian sesame oil
2 tsp. soy sauce
8 boneless, skin-on Spanish mackerel fillets
________________________________________
In a large bowl, whisk the miso, honey, sesame oil, and soy sauce into a smooth paste.
Add the mackerel fillets and toss to coat with the marinade.
Marinate for 20 minutes at room temperature.
Meanwhile, heat the oven to 425°F.
Place fillets on a foil lined pan.
Place in oven about 6-8 below broiler. Turn on broiler.
Cook until done, occasionally, brushing with marinade.
Note: Miso is a soy bean paste, usually used in Japanese cooking for making soup. You can find it in the refrigerator section of most Asian Markets. It is very salty, dont add any salt to the marinade or fish!

Works great with kings too!
Re: Miso Marinate Spanish Macs
would it work on the grill?
Re: Miso Marinate Spanish Macs
Sure, if you can broil it, you can grill it. The fillets tend to fall apart when done, just make sure to have a very wide spatula for turning or use a square fish basket.
