Keeping my catch?
I have a food saver and was wondering if that is the best way to keep my catch. We love grilled fish, and fish tacos. Anybody have any good suggestions?

I've had good success with a food saver on spanish -- better with the skin off and center bones/blood lines removed. I like kings in mack salad or smoked mack dip, so I remove skin, bones, and bloodline and chunk it up. Then soak in milk for a while, then boil and save in food saver. Others no doubt have other plans, but this works well for me.

Local or not?
Give a googan a king, and he can eat for a day. But teach a googan how to kingfish, and he'll be dead of mercury poisoning inside of three years

The food saver works great for me too! I'm eating the last two packs of spanish that I froze a year ago!

I love my food saver. As noted, fish will easily last 6 months to a year if properly packaged with a food saver. Make sure the fillets are dry, get good vacuum and properly seal.
Buy your rolls of bag materials from Amazon, lots cheaper, even cheaper than Wally-world.Carl

The Foof Saver is great and the one I have gets alot of use ,but when I'm at GS I have started using the Ziplock Vacuum . It works great and seems to keep fish as well as the Food Saver . In fact just had a mess of Spanish from last Fall's trip .
