Valentines Lasagna for My Wife
Yesterday I made a lasagna by special request of my wife for Valentines day.
While it is cheaper than a dozen long stemmed Red Roses,it still isn't inexpensive to put together a really good homemade Lasagna.
No getting out of it guys, gonna drop some dollars on the significant other.
Bolognese sauce

Ricotta/Basil mixture

Finale!

No secret recipes here.
Lasagna
This time I made a larger and 'enhanced' version of the Bolognese, with red, yellow and green bell peppers, 3# regular and 1# hot Italian sausage, used all fresh herbs and some red wine.
I also used a large and extra deep foil pan so as I could get five thick layers.
The Ricotta/Parmesan Basil mixture was 64oz of Ricotta, 4 eggs, 1.5C shaved Parmesan, 1.5C chopped fresh basil and salt with some crushed red pepper.
Every layer was a little more generous than usual.
It was a big lasagna, must've weighed 10#s.
And I made a smaller one for the freezer.Ragnar Benson:
