Now I got the format back but no icons to load photos. And, if I go advanced, all images are to large to load. This never happened before, nor have I changed any image sizes. I don't even know how!

Yesh, I suspect we may have reached some sort of limit with uploads.
I don't have the keys to that department, but will see if we can get it 'fixed'
Meanwhile, I have been using Tinypic uploads @ TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting
It's free and easy...

Got to sight and reduced image size but can't figure out how to transfer to forum.
Copy and paste, I believe the 2nd down (img)...message board is the size you want(640x480) need to choose that first, then find your file....upload when the picture and 4 options appear choose the second down img.....copy that and take it here and paste it.....
I open a second window with forum and tinypic and move back and forth

No nothing of cut & paste! Some setting on my android phone or on the forum must have changed. I've always taken photos with my phone and posted on the forum easily. Now, no matter what I try, the response is always image is to large. Just don't know what changed. I suspect it's on the forum, because I get same response on ipad.

Probably whatever site the forum (GSPFF) has been using to host picture uploads is now about 'full'.
It only has room for small pictures (like avatars, less than 20kb in size).
Until we (Finchaser & I) can get the 'keys' to empty out the picture folder folder, this is simply how things are for now!
I (and others) have recommended using a FREE picture hosting site like TinyPic.com
It is FREE & easy!
All you have to do is copy the URL link with the IMG label at the front and back and paste that where you want it to go in your Reply.
Or use the picture icon and paste the image name in the 'from URL' pop up box. (be sure and uncheck the "retrieve remotely..." box)

Checked with Verizon who confirmed it was a website problem and not mine. Needs to be corrected by webmaster! I'm sure others who try to post photos will have similar problems.

was able to upload a thumbnail but not a regular picture.
shame to see posts where someone has a pic but can't load it.
I tried tinypics but photo on a prior post was so small you could not make out details and zooming just made it worse.

Seems like a problem for almost everyone. Nothing I do works. File size always too large and tiny picks makes a littl dot you can hardly see. I miss not posting anymore.
except for a few, most are not posting photos anymore because they simply don't work!
No problemo here mi amigos, I host on imgur.com and just copy/paste the code.

One easy 'workaround' I have found is to first post a pic on our Facebook page...

and left click on the pic (to view in "Timeline photos",
Then right click on the pic and "copy image address".
Then I can drop that photo into a post here by using the "Insert Image" button in the "Quick Reply" bar above.
Change to "From URL"
Uncheck the button that says "Retrieve remote file and reference locally"
Paste the picture URL into the box
press "OK"
and wallah...

You are just looking for the easy/lazy way, ....get in tiny pic's and figure it out....I am in no way computer savy, but I figured it out (and without the grandkids help) .....something new is sometimes worth the effort....I offered help when down there but you never seemed to want it.Quote:

It is very easy to ReSize pics in TinyPics for website posting.
Before Uploading, under the ReSize drop down menu select, Website/Email 320x240
Then Upload your pic.

I have been copying and pasting photos from FB and other sites for a while.
I created a "Me Only" photo album on my personal FB page and can upload to that album and then all I do is open the photo, right click the photo and paste it on the forum just like it was text and BOOM, there it is!
The photo below was copied and pasted from a friends FB post. As easy as 1-2-3
1. Open photo
2. Right click and copy
3. Go to your forum post and Right Click and paste below the text you typed. No link needed.

Unfortunately, a lot of us old timers don't know how to create a Facebook album and some may not have Facebook to do so. I for one don't know how to cut and paste either, and we use phones or iPads so there is no longer "right click" option. Wouldn't it be a whole lot easier to have bubba fix the forum problem so most of us can go back to the original posting process?

C'mon, we have to have at least one trustworthy member who is IT tech savy, and more importantly willing to help out?
I know there is a lot of trust involved letting someone have Administration rights.
