You're right, Rich. There should only be one hole stuck in the fish. Since I don't have April 9th, I'm going to be real generous and say that I'd give it to you if I had it.
Todd, I picked that date mostly to irritate you.
On splitting the dates, I can see the arguments now, when a king is hooked at 11:50 and decked at 12:10. I'm going to be there that day just to watch the fun---heck, it'll probably be me jumping up and down in frustration, and if you don't think that's a persuasive argument, you've never seen anybody as fat as I am jump up and down---all those processed groceries flying every whichaway.
We could just make it "for entertainment purposes ONLY" and let everyone pick a date (ANY date).
That would show the most 'popular' date expectation and not force anyone to choose an alternate and alleviate any potential butt-hurtedness over rule violations, 'splitting hairs', 'he said-she said', etc.
#r, I think you should redo your calendar and add the hours of the day so multiple people can get the same day, but select the exact time to determine one winner.

I think that we should keep the present set-up, with the exception that if a fisherman claimed a day and he's WILLING to split his day and claim either the morning or afternoon, then he (like I am) is fully aware that this lessens his chances. If he doesn't STATE that he's willing to split the day, then the original selection stands and the other person has to find another date. So I say that if you've already picked a day, then you're stuck with it. If nobody else splits a day, it's fine with me and if the other person I'm splitting the day with wants to keep his fish in the water and gaff it at 12:01, then he can have all of the glory and honors befitting the accomplishment! It's all in fun, anyway!

I didn't see any "RULES" to this contest so who's to say only one person per day? If I want to pick a day that somebody else has picked, so what? It's all for fun anyways. You've got 7,426 members and about 30 days to pick so how is that fair to everyone? Going to argue over some coffee and a few lures? Not me!
