Not sure of a date but Slim or sunshine should be the angler that catches it :D

My guess, March 25th
Gotta feeling its gonna be a productive Spring.
March 24th, at the latest.
Scratch that, I'll go for Saturday the 17th of March at the latest.
There's a hell of a lot of warm water out there this year.
The 24th is my sister and daughters birthday!!! would be a good guess and usually not far from off!
March 7th for me by me:)
I wont say that there was already one caught "Very" close by yesterday. So I will say 2/28
I'm going with March 19'th St Josephs day. Good luck to all!
Holy cow!
Check out the water temperature @ Perdido Pass today...
Yep, it spiked up to 70 degrees!

Is this the first king or first ling thread?
I'll pick March 15th simply because I'll be in the turkey woods (opening day).
Not gonna pick a date but if the state doesn't do something there will more than likely be a couple sharked before one is landed.
I would not be surprised if the first king was caught this week.
Along with the first Spanish key chain chew-down.
March 3rd...because it's my brother's birthday and I have no other reason (scientific or otherwise) to pick that random date.
Catching kings is so random-any googan can do it-which is why I say it will be me middle of next week!
Too late....slim got it today
Howabout February 20th ;-)

Steve Langston strikes again!

Free coffee when I finally get to come and bring my pot.
I've done a lot of that "standing". After watching Steve the other day I went and bought a lighter rod to see if I can work at king fishing a little more and have a little more success (I'm an old fart with bad shoulders - hard to do much hard fishing).
I soaked a cigar minnow on the down-current side for about two hours before Steve, his son, and the other young fellow showed up (and then for another hour after they got there). The young guy hooked a king on an X-rap on his third cast while Steve worked on his reel. Then I left, apparently, just before Steve caught his king.
It remains to be seen if I can fish as hard as Steve does, doubtful even with a lighter rod, but I know dang well he earns his success.
2-20-2018 !!!!
... or Alex!
This one caught at the City Pier in PCB around Feb 17. Fairly sure it was the first off either the City or County Piers.
