I despise that term, because it 'renourishes' nothing but certain pockets!
They should call it what it is, SAND DREDGING...
There is still a big hole south of the pier about a mile off shore from the last "renourishment". Total guess, but maybe 1/4 to 1/2 mile diameter? It's 30 ft deep all around it, 40 ft in it. It has not filled in even with hurricanes which kind of surprises me.
We were down below Melbourne several years back and they were running sand sucker about 5-8 miles off shore there
What slays me is the way this beach dredging is 'rubber stamped' by FEMA and the very same Feds who are foot dragging about permitting repair of a pier that has been around since the 1960s...
