campin and fishin
Hey i was wanting to know if there is any place around here or near pensacola that I can set up a tent on the beach and fish. I wanted to go catch some sharks and stay overnight but wanted to sleep when needed maybe camp a couple days or so. Thanks

Fort Pickens used to have a campground, but I don't know of anywhere you can just set up a campsite on the beach.

I'm afraid camping on the beach has gone to the land of the nickle candy bar. Gone, Gone.

Oh how I miss the Good Old Days!
In the mid '80s, the red sticker (top center of windshield) was $10 per year and permitted driving on beach, camping, whatever at Johnson Beach, Fl.

I believe primitive camping (and shark fishing) is allowed at Johnson's Beach, Gulf Islands National Seashore, in Perdido Key, FL. It is about 10-15min. or so past the Flora-Bama.
Park near the end of the main road and walk east past the "camping allowed" sign.
a camping permit is required, available at the entrance gate.

Come November, there's some really fun and productive fishing in store for the pier fisherman. One of my favorites is the whiting a hard-pulling, great eating fish and when the schools are in, you...
