Drone and GoPro camera

Thinking about buying a Drone and GoPro camera for scouting the beach for surf fishing. Could launch it from anyplace on the beach and have it video the surf line. Would sure make it a lot easier than walking to look for bars, guts, cuts and rips. Not to mention the bikini shots you could get to relieve an old mans tired eyes. Might also be helpful during spring turkey season to scout woods and fields for long breads. It's amazing how creative a person can be during the cold dreary days of winter.

You need a submarine with GoPro for scouting too. Add tiny little spearfishing spears instead of torpedos. It is cold and dreary here too.

Fin, I just thought I would mention to you, the fact that in Caledonia, MN. at 6:a.m., it is 45 degrees, you have 39 degrees. Who is telling who, to stay warm. I know, it's thought that counts and I appreciate it. Thanks Fin!!

When August rolls around in South Alabama, Fin will be wishing for a few days of that ice and snow. :o

The drone idea is great until you look at the drawbacks. Off the top of my head, here are some in no particular order except the first.

• Using high tech electronics near saltwater has proven to be not a great idea.
• That high tech electronic equipment may not be as advanced as one imagines. The range of the radio is limited and one would have to keep up with the drone or lose control of it.
• There are plenty of other things in the same airspace that the drone would be used. Airplanes pulling banners, parachute riders of different types, ultralight aircraft, sightseeing helicopters and stupid birds. If anything bad happens...well, I am not a lawyer or even pretend to be one on the internet, but I'd bet that you would be found at fault a majority of the time.
• Saltwater isn't the only issue worthy of concern at the beach, but it is worth mentioning again. High winds and sand are there as well.
• You never know how someone is going to react to being recorded, even inadvertently.
