Fiddler crabs

What size hook should I use with fiddler crabs?? Is a #2 Khale to big?

I always have used a plain old bronze #2 or #4 baitholder for sheepies.

I've never had much luck with fiddlers. Only caught one sheep using fiddlers at the pass. My hooks of choice: #6 or 8 treble hook or an owner mosquito #2. Fish them with live shrimp.

i do use live shrimp most of the time, however ghost shrimp seem to always work better. When baitfish chew the shrimp off, I'll switch to fiddlers and have caught my share on them when the shrimp aren't working. I don't use ghosties because I don't have a pump or waders and can't keep 'em alive more than a day. Sheephead are finicky and will only take live shrimp some days and only ghost shrimp on others. I like fiddlers cause the are easy to keep weeks on end, unlike shrimp that you have to aerate and change water every day.and have worked quite well for me. But then again, like snakes luck, there are some days they won't touch 'em.
i use #10 3X treble and change it often.
