I just renewed my saltwater permit for another year. It is free for old folks that are Alabama residents and you can do it online.
Only 4 more weeks until I come down for a month's fishing.............Looking forward to it...........
I turned 65 in July and no longer need to buy licenses.
What is the saltwater permit you refer to?
It's the National Saltwater Registry (it's FREE!).
That assures you get counted as an Alabama saltwater fisherman so the state gets its 'fair share' of federal tax dollars charged to fishing related items.
"Saltwater Angler Registry" - you get it at the state site just like a license, but it does not cost anything. It is the same process as applying for a license you just check that one box in the list of licenses you are applying for and in the last column (to the right) it will say "$0.00" for the cost. You get a piece of paper just like the license only it just has the registry.Quote:
