BG 4000 problem!
What surprise to drive 3 hours to fish and realize the handle is missing on your favorite reel! Anyone know where to get a replacement handle and cap? No luck on the internet yet. You can find the power knobs but that's about it.

Local tackle repair shops may help. Try J and M MARINE.

I'd take a look at the shaft shape and then go to walmart- take apart a few reels (or look at reels in see through clamshell packages) to hopefully find one that matches. If memory serves (sometimes it does, other times it just makes me look silly) a square shaft is pretty common for the handle. Finding a cap will probably mean trying a few til you find one that matches the threads. There are some pretty inexpensive 4000 size diawa reels out there- those would be my starting point unless you get lucky and find a tackle joint with oem parts.

I just remembered that I had a bg4000 (thats how long its been since ive done any real fishing) took apart and. The handle threads onto the shaft- so probably looking at oem parts. I took apart a diawa opus and it had the square shaft attached to the handle- so not a match.
