Been in the GM in Mobile one time since they opened. You know prices are high when items at Dicks/Field & Stream and BPS are a lot cheaper. GM prices were higher than a giraffe's butt...I'd be willing to bet their "liquidation" prices are still higher than BPS and Dicks/F&S
Our Gander has a nice inventory of rifles and pistols, and friendly staff at the gun counter. I went there often...to handle the rifles and pistols, and talk to the friendly staff. Then I went to the local gun shop run by the grouchy busy guy and got him to order it for me for 100-150 bucks less.

According to Lemonis, Gander Mountain's locations in Florence, Opelika and Tuscaloosa will remain open. The fate of five others - Gadsden, Mobile, Montgomery, Dothan, Huntsville - remains unknown.
I don't see how the Huntsville location can be profitable. Their gun prices are always high, even when on sale. One of the largest gun dealers in the South (Larry's Pistol and Pawn) is a mile from them and destroys their pricing. Cabelas opened a year ago, Dick's is there and Academy just opened a second location.
Agreed. Went to that Gandwr once to get a backpack during a sale. I grew up in Huntsville and aside from private sales we never bought guns anywhere but Larrys.
Guess I'd better spend the gift card I have.
Market saturation down here in the Mobile metro area.
Within 20 miles of each other we have BPS, Gander Mountain, 2 Academy's, Dicks, and a Field & Stream/Dicks Combo. And that's not counting all the Walmarts.
