Gotchas

Im looking to get some gotcha but what is the best color and size?

I prefer 1 oz. They cast better. Also like the shiny ones in gold or chrome. They work for me, but everyone has their own price preference. When the Spanish are here, they'll hit almost anything!

The larger work well at times, but usually 7/8 oz gold and silver body with red and yellow heads draw a LOT more strikes.

G1601 and G301 are our top two sellers. Both are 7/8 oz. chrome with red heads, the 301 is 2'' long and the 1601 is 2 5/8'' long and a little slimmer in dia.

I never really pay attention to sizes, I just "eye ball" it. I know that doesn't help but its the really small gotcha like 2". Try to match lures that resemble the size of bait fish in the predator fishes diet, you will naturally get a lot more hook ups. Kings will hit those BIG gotchas, lady fish will too, but you will catch spanish too. Try spoons too, they can be cheaper and for its size it weighs a little more=longer casts.

Personal preference here, but most of the time I do best on the smallest size....5/8 oz. No feather. Of course, that may have to do with the fact that my crappie rod with 4# test throws that size the best. :) But I'm not a purist -- change in a heartbeat if somebody beside you is catching more or bigger.
