Here is how it looked at the pier yesterday afternoon:

That will be crude oil in about a million years.
A fellow told me it was clear at Ft. Morgan Park and also at Mobile St. east of Ft. Morgan. Said he'd caught reds, pomps, and whiting.
Its algae, natural occurrence. Food for critters that get eaten by the critter we like to catch and eat.
Fished from surf between peir and sea & suds this morning. Slime was horrible. Left after 40 min. Maybe when tide comes in it will improve?
Thanks all. I stayed home and mowed the lawn. Now I'm ready when it moves out.
Fished in surf this morning. Little slime. Fish able. Couple whiting.
A great aerial view (by Micdesigns) showing the extent and range of the current algae bloom in the surf zone at the Gulf State Park Pavilion.

the green slime is pretty nasty out here in fort morgan, atleast between mile marker 3 and 4.
We are going to be at Ft. Morgan next week, and the slime can be damned. We have fished the surf for so long; not algae, not grass, not even hundreds of little bitty catfish can stop us from fishing. Lightning is a deal breaker, though. Some of us piled our grass up on the beach one year, and it was enough to be a major hassle to clear it off the beach that evening, and it didn't even help the fishing any.
