Will be down in mid July, staying in a house about 150 yds. east of the new bridge over Little Lagoon inlet. Is the surf fishing any good in this area or will I need to go elsewhere. No specific target just whatever is biting.

You're good right there. Very close to where we stay. Walk down to the pass and fish the outgoing tide late in the afternoon.
Thank you for the info Razzorduck. I was hoping to get more input about fishing in that area.
FWIW get you a ghost shrimp pump and gather some in the evenings around low tide.
Use them in the surf the next morning, no telling what will bite them ;-)
Wadefishing the incoming tide (mornings) inside the Lagoon Pass along the dropoff to the north is a good option for trout, ladyfish and flounder!
Thanks a lot Pier##, I assume the pass is at the new bridge. Is Little Lagoon, all salt water or brackish? If I have out of state salt water license am I covered in the Lagoon?
Again, thanks a heap.
Salt most of the time unless we get a lot of rain. Your saltwater license covers you anywhere south of the bridge on hwy 59.
I assume he meant an AL issued out-of-state license.
Yes, I do not live in Alabama, I will be buying an out of state , Al. salt water license when I get there. I think I can get a 7 day license, is that correct?
I buy the 7 day saltwater trip license when I come to Gulf Shores. That covers me for fishing the pier as well.
