Uni knot I've been told
I use a double uni-knot when joining two lines of the same relative diameter.
Thanks...I have tied that knot, but I need a little more practice.
Just take your time tying it. Don't just pull on the mainlines or tag ends to slide the two knots together, move the knots with your fingers, tighten it slowly. And make sure to wet the lines before tightening, to lube them.

Double Uni Knot
Practice, practice, practice, I reckon. I haven't gotten the FG knot down yet, and it looks so easy, so I used the double uni a couple of weeks ago in a bass tournament. So I used the uni braid to fleoro, the first day no problem, even caught my biggest fish. That night prior to second day, thought it best to retie, first strike, pulled it off, I was rather pissed. I'm doing without the leader and going back to all fleoro for now until I get more confident with my knots.
Once you get the double uni down, you will wonder how you survived without it, and it is a very secure knot. It is a little fat, but will make it through the guides when you join down in the spool. Once you get all the wraps right and tight, you will not have leader issues either. Just check it putting good pressure on it. Early on I did have a few not cinch up tight, now, I don't.
Thank you. I will definitely practice since practice "hopefully" will make perfect.
