    I hope it gets cold and stays cold until March. I think it helps the cobia run. When it stays warm and the water on the beach warms up too fast they migrate offshore making it tougher to get at them. 2 1/2 more months!

    Come on now, jigslinger, don't jinx my sheepshead fishin". Actually, I think you're right about the water warming too fast---I just hope it warms on schedule.

    Here's what the DI east end pier looked like Tuesday am Jan 7, 2014



    That is the DI weather station in the background at the end of the pier.
    The air temp has been below freezing since about sundown Monday evening...

    I'd say 60-65
    but they will bite (some) in cooler water than that...

    Somebody down there needs to bow up and go catch something. It was 3 degrees here this morning and only got up to 20 with wind chill still in the single digits and that's too cold to fish.
