How to Use Live Shrimp Effectively?
I have always only used artificial bait for Specks and Flounder, but tried using Live Shrimp for the first time this week. With my son, live bait seems to be more fun.
My problem is, out of the two dozen live shrimp, 23 were ate by pinfish under the cork. How do you use live shrimp without losing every one of them to trash fish. Same for flounder, pinfish ate all my bull minnows.

There isn't much you can do to keep undesirables from eating your live shrimp other than keeping them out of the waters where the undesirables swim.

Pinfish are the DEVIL!
The best thing you can do this time of year to keep a live shrimp alive longer is to let it swim unencombered by weight.
That at least gives it a chance to defend itself from hungry hordes of pinfish.
In othe words, you might catch 2 or 3 trout out of the same two dozen shrimp.

Bubba' this time of year i rarely fish with shrimp.. take your cast net with you and load up on baits on spot....
Re: How to Use Live Shrimp Effectively?
Last time I bought/used live shrimp, we tried fishing Fowl River and the Industrial Canal, and all the dagblasted fish decided they wanted something else to eat that day... Nothing was even being kind enough to steal them. ::)
Thankfully a couple of Reds liked a 1/4oz gold spoon.
