Let's talk about rain gear

It dawn on me that I haven't pulled out my rain gear since the move back to GA. , about 15 months now and back in WV I hadn't used it in I don't remember , I keep it a yellow bag so I don't forget it . Well maybe it has something to do with that bag because when I pulled it out I discovered to my Surprise and Shock that they Shrank so there no longer loose so I can put them on over some warm garments , I've never heard of this phenomenon before . As I recall I think I only put them on once and the storm turned away so back in the bag they went . So now I have to replace them as I'm sure there out of warranty now ,
So I look to you good seasoned regulators of the Pier for recommendations for the warmer southern climate , In my younger days the Army would issue us ponchos and we hardly used them we just got wet but that was back in the day and I'm smarter now I hope . So what do you use ??

Frog toggs.....the breathable ones....not the rubber type
I like the goretex too but very pricey.....unless your bride works at Eddie Bauer....:D

My .02 worth. I like Frogg Toggs, but have misplaced mine. I keep a rain suit from Acadamy ($12) in the hatch of the kayak, and carried them with me on the pier last month, worked fine, kept me dry and have saved me many times. My son has a $400 set of Simms, very nice, me?, Nah.

I had a set of BPS 100MPH bibs and parka that saved me many time when I used to fish 100+ days a year - and did not have a choice of when to go and not...but I am now less fortunate with my fishing opportunities and carry a set of Frog Togs that work very well.

Unless you will be driving a boat in a gale...save the money for bait.

I picked up a middle of the line Frog Toggs hooded jacket and pants set at Cabela’s for around $50. They are the breathable material and work great!

Wall's makes some pretty nice rain gear. I had one of their rain suits at one time. I have one of their insulated jump suits now. Nice to have in November when it's cold on the pier

It seems that Frogg Toggs are well liked , I looked at them once in a Gander Mountain store as I was wandering I'll have to see if Academy
has them since Gander Mountain is history , Won't spend a cent at Dick's with there anti 2nd. Amendment stance and now they announced that they are doing away with all the Hunting supplies too ,

I just ordered a pair of Frogg Toggs from Walmart (on line). In fact I'm having them shipped to the Gulf Shores Walmart. I'll pick them up when I get there next week.

FYI.....Gander Mountain has reopened in Pensacola, Florida and maybe elsewhere.
