Pier#r I agree about J&M quality, unfortunately, so does everyone else. :)
I poured a bucket of sea water in with my Fresh Market shrimp and they had a party---I had to tell them to keep the band down. They were really nice looking shrimp, but they were the same kind I kept getting early last spring---the sheepies wouldn't bite them. The croakers bit them real well when I cut them in pieces.
I change the water regularly in the bucket while at the pier. Usually when I have several dozen in the pail, the water gets dirty quick. Never had any trouble except when there is a big temp difference, then I add it slowly without problems.
