"Sportsman's Best: Baits, Rigs & Tackle" by Vic Dunaway
"Baits, Rigs & Tackle Fishing Book Knots + More" by Vic Dunaway
"Fisherman's Bible" by Jay Cassell
"Through The Fish'S Eye" by Mark Sosin & John Clark
"Practical Light Tackle Fishing" by Mark Sosin
Plus, about a million articles written on the subject ;-)
I found this book in a used book store in Mobile: http://www.amazon.com/Fishing-Local-.../dp/1931644497
It's a little outdated, but still has some worthwhile information.
One of my favorite fishing books is 'The Lore of Sportfishing'.
It covers many types of fresh & salt water fishing, tie a fly & read a trout stream, troll for pelagics, panfishing, surf & pier, bass, ice, tuna and more, more, more.
The sections on gear are dated but easily adaptable.
The illustrations, this is where this book shines, amazing color and B/W of hundreds of common species,
A book every well read angler should have on his shelves.
Mine is all the more special because it came from my Grandfather, who instilled in me my passion for fishing.
Thank for the help guys. I was able to find a cpl of y'all suggestions on amazon for pocket change. Heading down this weekend to launch the kayak. Hopefully the surf is smooth and the fish are starving.
