I've not found a bad time to fish a spoon. Moving tides seem better than no tide, but it's that way for most fishing.
Best morning fishing is when the tide is up (rising or just starting to fall). Scout the beach at low tide to find the deep spots and then go back to them when the tide is up. Near a cut through in the bar is a plus.
I will definitely try this and check the tide table.
Whenever water conditions drop clarity to less than 3' I generally steer away from visual lures and concentrate more on the 'smelly' ones (Gulp baits, Fishbites or natural like cut fresh shrimp or fish) and/or 'noisy' ones (topwaters, bubble rig, etc.)
