Still trying to figure out how I feel about this product. I would kind of like to give it a try on Spanish. I often accidentally cut through the skin when I skin the bigger filets. I can clean a filet pretty much as fast as this machine but would still like to give one a go just for the hell of it. Extremely pricey though.

I saw a facebook video yesterday of a machine called "skinzit', eating ribcages off filets and skinning same,,searched it on amazon,outa stock,,,pricey for me,specially after used bass boat purchase,,,$150 however impressive video!!
Pretty darn cool, would work wonders on thick skinned fish, but I am not sure that the thin skin on Spanish would hold up. Plus I don't bother skinning Spanish anway.
But still cool!
Doubt it would get the pin bones...but guess there is one way to find out.
Justin--Next time we get together when the Spanish are biting, let me show you the way Pier#r showed me to skin a fillet without cutting into the skin. Pure magic, and gets the pin bones out, too.
Sounds good George. It is never too much trouble for me when I clean Spanish, just more of an annoyance. But I will always take advice given by Pier#er. Can't wait to see the trick.
the 3 fish shown are fairly easy to skin, I used to have trouble with the spanish till I watched Haywire clean one(the way I do it now)....Pier#r does it like I would do a cat fish or how I was shown to do MaiMai(dolphin)
I wonder how that machine would do a finger, if got to close
Lou and Leroy , use a pliers type skinner from Walmart on Spanish . They swear by them and seem to do a good job from what I've observed. .
As for myself I don't skin Spanish unless they are very large . I prefer the skin on the smaller ones.
