King Rod and Reel for XRAPS
I am looking for suggestions on a rod and reel to be mainly used for throwing 3/4 oz and 1/1/2 oz XRAPS from the pier. Need some guidance on reel brand and size, rod length and type and fishing line (mono or braid) etc. Looking for a rod and reel that is not to heavy that you don't burn your self out working the XRAP after a cast but will have enough line capacity, drag and durability for Kings. Thanks for the suggestions

Just about any decent sized Penn 4500-6500, shimano, etc can toss an XRAP. I personally like a rod with a softer tip for fishing artificials. 7'-8' rod length.
Good tip Tom! These two big fellas were screaming like girls when that happened to them last week... LOL
A Spadefish safety tip!
