Bring high-quality sunscreen and a hat. Use the Search bar for previous discussions and check out the DATED fishing reports for what was happening in previous years, what was biting, what they were catching them on, etc. Good Reading!

Anchoring off the east jetties at Perdido Pass can produce all kinds of fish, depending on conditions---bluefish, should still be some pompano around, redfish, etc. Good luck.
Remember, you can get drunk on water just as fast as you can on land. Go easy on the beer while you're out there.
Lose the beer while boating/fishing, you'll need lots of water and sports drinks for proper hydration.
Save it for the end of the day as you celebrate by your day of catching.
Wide brimmed hats, long sleeve, well ventilated shirts with SPF fabric, lots of SPF50 sunscreen, polarized shades, water, water, water, water.... Sun/Heat Stroke is no joke.
I'll second the Pass, but also hit the Bay/Lagoon early mornings for top water action around the Flats.
Then the channels, holes and drop offs later n the AM.
And of course visit everyone on the pier.

Thanks for the GREAT advice. I need to rephrase my statement. a lot of beer meant that years of drinking, has killed a lot of brain cells. Therefore anything I learned from previous trips is limited.(joke)...I am trying to decide if to haul my 24 ft. Hurricane to the gulf or just fish from the surf. If the heat has fishing slow and fishing from the surf is just as productive(entertainment). I will do that, saves me $$ and possible headaches.
My sweet and lovely wife makes sure I am always with a designated driver ( boat Captain ) when I drink a beer in a boat. But, honestly, everything is better in the sand.
Leave the beer for later as stated....headaches comes with boat trailering to and from long distances....unless already having good numbers offshore can be like finding a needle in the haystack....public numbers are ok, along with close rigs.....but for a short trip I wouldn't bother....salt is very hard on that
