Clueless Wife needing help!
Hi! Our family is heading to the Fort Morgan area in a few weeks. My husband enjoys fishing here in Northwest Arkansas for bass and such. I know he would like to do some fishing while we are on the coast, but he doesn't want to spend money to buy new equipment and such that he won't use more than just a few times. I'm not sure what he currently has; although, I know he has a good selection of rods & reels and tackle that he uses here on the local lakes. Is there anything that he might have in his current collection that I could bring with us and he could use to do a little light fishing down there? Thanks!!

His medium weight (8-10# test line) spinning tackle will be fine for fishing the beach and bay for speckled trout, slot redfish, flounder and whiting.

Not sure if this is helpful, but I took a 5ft ultra light to a pier in NC last year and had an absolute blast catching little 1ft sharks and white trout. They feel like whales when you use a pole that size. Bad news: I couldnt lift a 2lb spade i caught up onto the pier without risking my pole breaking. Ended up using another pole/line to foul hook the thing so i could land it. The kids on the pier were disgusted I would take home an "angel fish" to eat.
Honestly, I am not sure Tom. But your speculation has merit as recent rains would have brought an influx of nutrients into eastern LL and a subsequent increase in macroscopic life feeding on that...
