Perdido Pass Fishing Help
Hi everyone, I am a very experienced freshwater fisherman and have been for years, and while in town I figured I'd give saltwater fishing a try. I have been deep sea fishing several times and enjoy that a lot, but since I already own some medium gear I figured I might have a shot. I went out yesterday and fished from the wall on the west side and had decent success using my 'redneck' version of a pompano rig. I also bought a spoon and was wondering exactly how to use it, is it just like using spinner bait? Any tips at all would be a massive help, and I would owe some beers. :)
Thanks
-Roan
Re: Perdido Pass Fishing Help
I thought the west side was closed down? I rode over the bridge a couple of weekends ago and it was all fenced off.
Re: Perdido Pass Fishing Help
There is a fence blocking a large part of it, but there is still a large area not blocked off, and I see people fishing there on a regular basis. Any tips on lures/baits? I've been using squid on a number 6 treble, and a smaller hook for baitfish. Any tips or hints would be incredible. Thanks in advance.
Re: Perdido Pass Fishing Help
Gotcha plugs at night work, as do spoons.
Re: Perdido Pass Fishing Help
Best advice I have is to buzz over to J and M tackle and tell the guys working there where you are fishing and let them hook you up. They have the right leaders, the right baits, and probably know what's biting best right now. They are just right down the road from where you are.
