Need advice from the Wizards...
Desperately seeking advice on a vintage rod selection to pair with my freshly acquired 704Z. It will primarily be a king/snobblin' rig so I am looking for a slow tip with some decent backbone. I have seen several salmon mooching rods (Wright McGill, Fenwick, Conolon, etc) - but they seldom list the action of the rods. I have recently snagged a few Quantum Blue, 8'6 MH 2 piece rods, but they seem a bit heavy at the tip - and too new for what I am looking for. Any suggestions - MUST be 2-piece for this Travlin Man.
And PS - what lb. line should I load up with. -should I back with a few hundred yards of braid and top off with mono?Good times, Good friends, Great Beer. You can buy all three - But it's always better to invest the time to make your own.
Good tip Tom! These two big fellas were screaming like girls when that happened to them last week... LOL
A Spadefish safety tip!
