surf rod bag
I know most of you are locals to the area, but does anyone have any experience with surf rod bags that would be good to carry 2 piece surf rods (and preferably reels) on a road trip? I am not looking to strap things to my roof rack. Just looking for a padded bag that can hold a 10' rod broken down into 2 pieces and some smaller 2 piece rods as well. The Bass Pro here in Dallas really only has airline travel type hard cases and I'm not sure they would fit the guides on your typical surf rod.

yep nothing beats a hard case for traveling....they are hard to crush....mine fits perfect in the van on our trips with many more rods then needed
put them in both directions and it is amazing how many will fit with out breakage
I have a few smaller ones, but the big one fits them all, even the boat rods too taken time to pack them in
I have a few soft cases that might be what your looking for .....I am not real sure the length rod they would accommodate 9+ ft
