I've never caught a redfish with worms. Even the bulls. And the smaller "bulls" aren't bad eating.
Bull Black drum are another story. Nastiest tasting fish I ever tried to eat. Has a funky cartilage/connective tissue type stuff between the muscle flakes. Nasty.

I like the bulls about 30” fileted shin on Olive oil and Greek seasoning, put on a grill on low heat
Close the lid and wait for the meat to get done. You can plate them the skin on.

We keep up to about 30inches too. I've never seen worms even in big ones. The black drums are another story. I agree, they are as about as nasty as fish come. It's strange since the puppy drum in my opinion are one of the best eating fish out there. I keep those until they lose their strips.

I gut hooked a 12lb red at the pier last June while floating a LY for kings. I was going to remove the hook and lower it back into the water but it was bleeding really bad and the guy with the net said it would die shortly so I kept it. It yielded some nice meat but took forever to clean and there was a ton of waste.

The only worms I've ever seen in bull red came from the intestinal tract, and I don't think I'm gonna eat any of that, no matter how well it's cleaned.

Lol same here. The reds are good but almost all big black drum and even a few small ones have worms.
