Redfishing
Hello, I have visited the pier a few times, only in the very early spring though. I will be visiting the weekend of May 17th and am wondering what's biting around that time. How is the redfish fishing going? What are you using to catch them? Any information helps. Thanks!

The best thing I ever did was get a guide to take the kids and wife out fishing. We went when the kids were little. 8-10. Not all guides like to take kids, but we lucked up and found a good one. We always went bay fishing on the flats but what I'm saying is that you can use the same basic ideas to fish about anywhere. I'm not saying rent a boat and go to the same places the guide took you. It would have taken me years to catch that many quality reds and I would have spent more money too. The kids are grown now and they both love to fish.

you might want to try west beach pass there is some great red fishing over there at the mouth of the lagoon live bait preferably small lys because shrimp will just be picked apart by pinfish that time of year ...or soft plastics will do not many bulls but alot of slot reds and you may catch flounder and specks to using those baits oh and there is also a good bit of mangrove snapper too mostly undersized tho
get the gaff!!!
Good tip Tom! These two big fellas were screaming like girls when that happened to them last week... LOL
A Spadefish safety tip!
